This itinerary is perfect for the adventurous traveller seeking an authentic safari experience in the beautiful Botswana bush. We particularly recommend this trip for photographers, birders, older families and adventurous travellers who don’t mind waking up to the sound of an elephant walking past your tent!
The mobile safari moves between two very productive areas of the famous Okavango Delta allowing different activities to be enjoyed and increasing the likelihood of seeing as much game as possible. The accommodation is in simple tents with eco-toilets and bucket showers, however, the camping beds are comfortable with cosy duvets and fluffy pillows. The food is also of an exceptional quality and more importantly the guiding is second to none.

Mobile camping is rapidly gaining in popularity as more and more safari fans seek out a more authentic and closer-to-nature way of experiencing Africa’s greatest wildernesses. On this 7-day mobile camping safari, you will immerse yourself in a private reserve in Botswana’s immense and irreplaceable Okavango Delta.
Taking off from the large town of Maun, you will fly into Xakanaxa on the banks on the Khwai River and then make your way to a temporary campsite in the Moremi Game Reserve. The goal of mobile camping is to leave no trace in the bush so no permanent structures, swimming pools or spas are built; accommodation is in comfortable but basic Meru or dome tents.
On arrival in Maun you will meet your guide and set off for the Moremi Wildlife Reserve.
A full day exploring the varied habitats in the Delta by game drives. This is a fascinating area with a labyrinth of waterways and wonderful game viewing.
A second day exploring the Delta with your guide.
This morning you take a slow drive through the Moremi Game Reserve towards the Khwai Community Area in the north-east. Here you will be staying in a private concession just to the east of the Delta for three nights.
Today will be spent exploring the Khwai Concession area. This area is known for big herds of buffalo as well as zebra, giraffe and other antelope. You will also be able to experience night drives and walking safaris in the Khwai area as it is outside the National Park.
A second day exploring the Khwai area with your guide.
After breakfast this morning you will have a game drive to the airstrip where you will be met by your charter flight back to Maun.
